Founded by two passionate friends from business school, Jalal El CHAROUK and Oumar SALL, UMI Fruits is much more than an import-export company for food products. We grew up in families with deep roots in the food industry, and our professional background in consulting and import-export has shaped our vision.

Umi, a confluence of meaning
In the Arabic language, “Umi” tenderly evokes the term “mother”. In Japanese, it translates to “the sea,” a vast expanse that symbolizes diversity and connectivity. This linguistic harmony transcends borders, because in French, the soft murmur of Umi resonates with these two meanings. It is a name that fuses cultures and senses, recalling the strength of motherhood and the magnificence of the sea, while creating a poetic symphony that transcends languages.
